Film Season New Details - Next Showing Tuesday June 22 |

Over 100 people attended the first showing in the Venezuela in Documentary film season recentlyat the Renoir in London.The season showcases a small but representative sample of the growing documentary interest that the Bolivarian process has awoken around the world. The next and final film is: 22ND JUNE: BEYOND ELECTIONS - REDEFINING DEMOCRACY IN THE AMERICAS- MICHAEL FOX & SILVIA LEIDECKER (2009) “This empowering documentary gives hopeful and concrete examples of people taking back the reigns of power and governing their own communities. By Angelica Antia Azuaje, Correo del Orinoco International, May 2nd 2010Compensating the asymmetries between nations, as well as creating strategic alliances and agreements between Latin American countries, are the most important objectives of the synergy between the Bolivarian Alliance of the Americas (ALBA) and the Unitary System of Regional Compensation (Sucre), explained Eudomar Tovar, president of the Sucre. “The Sucre will be a vital tool for our people, because it will help us to strengthen sovereign production in order to maintain an economic structure consistent with the reality of each country”, he stated.

Over 100 people attended a packed seminar on Thursday April 22 at London’s Canning House on ALBA: Building a New Latin America with speakers including representatives of Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela. The seminar was organised as part of the ongoing work of SERTUC, the Cuba Solidarity Campaign and the Venezuela Solidarity Campaign – supported by OH Parsons and a number of trade unions – in raising awareness of the tremendous changes sweeping Latin America. |
