Key speakers included the Vice-President of the Venezuelan TUC equivalent and General Secretary of Venezuela's Graphic and Paper Manufacturers Union, Egle Sanchez, plus her colleague Nelson Sanz, as the crowning moment of their successful Venezuela:Defending the Majority, Not Punishing the Poorest national tour.
Other speakers of note included Jeremy Corbyn MP, TUC Deputy General Secretary Frances O’Grady, former Colombian political prisoner, Rosalba Gaviria and the mothers of the Miami Five plus Olympic gold medallist Alberto Juantorena from Cuba. The conference was organised by the Venezuela Solidarity Campaign, the Cuba Solidarity Campaign and the Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign as well as SERTUC and additionally sponsored by numerous trade unions and other campaigning groups.
